Iowa Lakes Community College New Swine Facility

Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg, IA held a ribbon cutting on September 19, 2013 for their new swine facility. New Modern Concepts and Osborne Industries partnered to bid and complete this new 7,500 square foot building to provide education and research for the students.
The new swine facility includes farrowing, nursery and three new grower rooms that can handle 12 sows and up to 120 pigs in each of the nursery and finishing rooms. In addition to the educational and research opportunities, this new facility allows the college to close the open earthen manure storage system.
Pigs are expected to populate the new facility in mid-October 2013.
