New Modern Concepts is thrilled to be working with Ben Crawford on a new 2,400 head finishing site where he will produce pigs for Prestage Farms. This site is a full power ventilated double-wide barn. The barn features a double load-out chutes and a shower-in office with full conveniences for the owners and caretakers. AP/GSI supplies the feed and ventilation package ensuring top shelf equipment and long lasting performance of the site. Controllers and all electrical items are located outside the finishing rooms to keep them clean, well-maintained and working properly. The fully graveled turnaround allows for improved safety as no trucks or semis will have to back into the site from the road. A unique feature of this barn is all the ventilation is engineered within walls vs. having some partial pit ventilation. Ben and Prestage Farms worked with Iowa State University on the new system and will be keeping records of it performance. New Modern Concepts is one of the preferred builders for Prestage Farms.
